Oprah did it
Ghandi did it
Salman Rushdi hid it but did it
Even David Bowie hit it and smashed it
We all want this yet we all shy away from it – saying we want something else.
Power – is a five letter word, yet society would have you believe that it’s something to be careful of doing.
In case you get seen – in case you are heard.
People have rocked convention for millennia, Guy Fawkes, Sid And Nancy and they were often called ‘traitors’ ‘anarchists’ or ‘misguided’
When really what all of those people were showing us , was their colours, their true self, their voice and their message, and yes sometimes it was shocking, sometimes it rocked things but if it made you question why you agree to certain stereotypes, why you even try to conform when like a peacock the divine in you is ready to strut your stuff.
Take Bowie for example, or any of the great rockers, the great comic Robin Williams or even any of the colourful activists throughout history, being part of the masses was never part of their plan, and yet you may think this doesn’t apply to you.
You’re maybe a wife, a mother, a businessman or a person with a warm heart but only so many hours in the day, changing the world just sounds too damn tiring. Well, if like many you are interested in the theories of manifestation, changing Your world is where your focus likely is at.
If as many find, the system holds you back rather than sets you free, perhaps it’s time to look at the five letter word again ‘Power’ – how does it make you feel ? Giddy, excited, a little bit wild, and then of course it’s time to back into your comfort zones.
Your soul, your essence, your pre life you, had the awareness that the world we live in would test you, trip you up, try to put you in a box, and seal the lid. Your soul knew that as a child you would go along with this for so long, seeking to fit in, seeking approval till there comes a point when you just can’t do that dance any more, and then, the party gets started.
Pre life, you made a plan, with a group of 12 soul council members to break boundaries, heal old wounds, have new adventures, and expand in so many colourful and yes sometimes damn painful ways. Pre life, you were in euphoria and it didn’t seem such a big deal, of course, then you landed on planet earth and it all begins to make no sense at all.
Power is what everyone wants, and the daft thing is vision boards and affirmations aside it’s what everyone has, but until you see that you have it, then it’s missing, and you’l continue searching for something that your not sure exists, you’l look to mentors, to doctrines, so belief systems, until you come to a place where it is obvious the only one who gets you – is you – how powerful is that?
You are powerful – if you choose to be. You can say yes to anything and anyone at any time. If you did that for a month how would your life look? You can of course say ‘no’ to everyone as well – just how would ‘that’ shake things up for you?
The point we are trying to make here is even if you choose not to exercise it don’t be scared or put off by it, and again we use Bowies example. In his final song ‘Lazarus’ knowing full well his journey was ending, he talked of being a little blue bird and ‘flying away to be free’ we would argue that he was in so many respects already free to be, say and do exactly as he chose, and he wasn’t condemned for it quite the opposite the world revered him.
Power is a word that people the world over shirk from in the main, and those that do grab it and grasp it often wield it like a four year old with pinking shears.
Yet power is something that exists in all of us, put simply the energy that makes up worlds ALSO makes us up, it is literally compacted star dust that makes up the physical nature of our body.
So next time you feel like saying something or expressing yourself in a way that may shock some but liberate you we say like bowie who rose like Lazarus before he passed, it’s time to strut your stuff like the ‘rock star’ you are
