One thing that I’m becoming increasingly aware of, especially in recent weeks, is that the pace of life doesn’t seem to be slowing down. In the workplace people seem to be under increasing pressure to meet “aspirational” targets, that are actually unrealistic.
Workloads are becoming heavier and heavier. As a result of this people are feeling more stressed, anxious and tired than ever. Any sense of calm, serenity and peace that is cultivated whilst away from our busy life, is quickly eroded and destroyed the moment you step back into your normal life. This is where adopting a practice and introducing tools that you can easily use in your life on a daily basis can support you in experiencing the highs and lows of modern living with more grace, as well as ease.
One way of doing this is through the use of crystals. Incorporating them into your daily life in order to reduce anxiety, calm the mind and relax the body. Using crystals in your daily life doesn’t have to be all about meditation and yoga, unless you want it to be. Nor does it have to be all woo-woo, such as creating crystal elixirs or grids. In fact, it can be easy as simply wearing crystal jewellery, placing stones on your desk, sleeping with them under your pillow or carrying a tumble stone or two around with you. How you incorporate crystals into your daily life is up to you.
There are many crystals that can be used to support you in reducing stress and anxiety. If a crystal is right for you, you’ll be instantly drawn to its energy. Suggested crystals for calming and anxiety
Blue Lace Agate
Simply holding this beautiful blue crystal in your hand brings about a calming and peaceful energy. Meditate with this crystal before you start your day in order to reduce stress or anxiety. If you are particularly prone to feeling overwhelmed or stressed throughout your day then you may benefit from wearing Blue Lace Agate jewellery, in order to stabilise your energy and maintain that sense of calm. Combine it with Clear Quartz or Rose Quartz to amplify the energy of your intention whilst clearing the energy. Whereas the Rose Quartz will increase the feeling of love and compassion. Both of which often get cancelled out when stress, anxiety and fear kick in.

More commonly known as one of the best crystals to use for protection, Black Tourmaline transmutes negative energy. Therefore, if you’re feeling stressed, worried, anxious and your mind is beseeched with negative thoughts you may find it useful to carry this stone with you or work with it at the end of the day, so you can clear away the low vibes. Simply hold your Black Tourmaline crystal in your hand and imagine the worries, stress or concerns of your day being absorbed by the crystal. Afterwards I recommend that you then work with a crystal like Rose Quartz or Green Aventurine. This is because once you remove something you should replace with it something better. In this case you’re removing fear and dark energy, so replace it with love and light. You can do this through visualisation and intention setting with your chosen crystals or an item of crystal jewellery. Remember to cleanse your Black Tourmaline crystal often. Personally, I recommend that you do this daily if you are working with it daily.
Other crystals you may want to work with include Peridot, Lepidolite or Danburite. The key is to allow yourself to be open to connecting with the crystal whose vibe is resonating with yours. If you can touch the crystals, then take the time to hold them in your hand and feel their energy. You’ll know intuitively if the crystal is one that is ready to work with you, so trust your intuition.
