Ooh the thirst is real!
Ok, so you probably went into coaching, healing, and sharing your amazing high-vibe skills and products with all the best intentions:
"...I'm going to change the world!"
"...I'm going to live my purpose and be so happy!"
"...I'm going to unlock the code to Atlantis!"
Ok, maybe not the last one for everybody!
But it's easy to point out that you started your business because you deeply and truly care ❤
And what drives me literally crazy, is seeing beautiful and amazing purpose-driven entrepreneurs go bankrupt in their business and find themselves going months without any new clients.
Especially the ones with the BIG hearts who with the right guidance can create massive change.
And while there are plenty of marketing consultants out there saying: marketing, branding, copywriting, seo, and social media, are the salvation to your business woes.
While all of that is helpful, it's not your salvation...you are!
It's the mindset of being so good they can't ignore you. It's discovering your core vision and movement. It's defining what you will and will not believe.
And I want to show you how to transform your little neck of the woods, stop the overwhelm, and thrive after going months without any new clients:
1. Raise Your Vibration & Handle The Fear Mindsets (Yours & Your Potential Client)
If you're in a dry spell in your financial life, chances are this step will be the hardest to work through, but it's the most important.
What you believe becomes you.
If you believe that you can't bring in any new clients and that your time is best feeling sorry for yourself and playing around with fonts on your website, well that's what your results will be.
I'm a big culprit of this, myself.
When I'm feeling small I'll go into hiding. I'll spend hours tweaking copy on my website. I'll play around with fonts and color choices on social media, and ill spend hours liking Instagram photos bit by bit hoping that someone will see my website, have an instant epiphany and want to work with me.
And at the end of the day it doesn't feel good. It's long hours and it's a lot of hustle for zero return.
I believe in working smarter not harder and with the right system in place and in front of the right audience, I can create epic shifts!
So take a look at what's really going on beneath the surface. Why are you playing small and what are you really afraid of?
Write it down on a sheet of paper and get it all out.
Some examples to get you started:
- I feel like such a fraud! What if I take this person's money and I totally mess it up? Am I even good enough?
- Should I really be charging this much? So and so is cheaper and they seem like they have it all together. Who is going to spend this kind of money working with me?
- What if i take on too many clients and I can't handle it? It'll be a customer service disaster and it'll be all my fault!
Look at your fear mindsets and create a counter argument for each. These fear mindsets will pop up during your sales calls and when you're interacting with potential clients. If you can come up with a game plan to knock them down now, you'll feel so much more confident and ready when it's time to show up!
And while you're at it, do some research and get into the mindsets of your target audience. What are they worried about? What do they need to feel safe, secure, and open to working with you? This will help you create and sell amazing products that your dream audience desperately wants and needs
2. Find Your Movement & Market That
What does Toms shoes, Apple, Richard Branson, and Whole Foods have in common?
Great brands? Close, but look deeper.
All of them have a BIG Movement behind them.
Simon Sinek actually did a TED talk on this called Start With Why.
What's your why? What's your bigger movement?
Movements are exciting! They're captivating and they are contagious just by their nature.
My movement is to help a BILLION people in my lifetime move through their personal fears, self-worth, and anxiety hurdles and into their consistent greatness so as a collective we can dramatically impact the planet and bring healing where there is suffering, hope where there is doubt, and courage where there is fear.
Figure out your bigger movement and share that with the world!
You're not selling a service or product. You're inviting people in to be a part of your movement.
Your services and products just happen to help facilitate this larger vision.
3. Get a Sales System in Place
What's your current sales system? How do you consistently create a flow of potential clients coming in?
Remember when I was playing small and hoping I could magically attract people to my website?
Well the problem with that is there's a lot of options when you get to a website: they can visit the blog, check out the homepage, and when they get to the work with me page--lets be honest they probably don't have time to read through a whole sales page and take action right that second. And why would they? What have you ever done for them to SHOW that you're going to do what you say you're going to do?
So understanding this mindset, you can create a sales system where you show what you're potentially capable of FIRST.
Here's an example of a digital sales system that gives first:
What you'll need: Pick an email provider and a landing page provider
I personally use Convertkit as my email provider and Optimize Press as my landing page provider
Step 1: Market Research (have conversations and figure out what your ideal client is struggling with. You can use a booking calendar like calendly.com or acuity.com to set up 15-min market research chats to get to know your ideal audience.)
Step 2: Create a lead magnet (opt-in goodie) in the form of a Mini e-book, checklist, infographic, audio meditation, video training, or even a starter kit with a mix of these to address your ideal clients needs
Step 3: Create a Landing Page where they can enter in an e-mail to get your free lead magnet
Step 4: Drive Traffic (use FB ads, guest posts, social media, podcasts, blogs, etc to drive your potential clients to this landing page)
Step 5: The Thank You page (use this page to add a bonus gift --a free consultation with you!) this place is prime real estate to introduce your big movement and share how you would like to best serve them next :)
Step 6: The Call (once they scheduled a discovery call with you, this is where handling your fear mindsets flies in strong! On the call you're not speaking problems, you're not selling products, your speaking the language of fear mindsets!!)
So if you did your work in the handle the fear mindsets section, you'll be all set to handle your fear mindsets that might pop up when you're first starting out with discovery calls
Handling and coming up with a strong strategy to combat your common fear mindsets prior to the call will help you feel more confident and strong on the call --and it shows!
Because your potential client isn't just listening to your offer they're going through their own fear mindsets in their head AND judging your level of confidence in what you're sharing as well!
Common fear mindsets of a potential client might be (dependent on your particular audience --this is where market research and getting to know your target audience is so important!):
- Money is really tight right now, what if I invest in this program and I put myself in a deeper financial hole?
- Can I trust this person? Are they really going to do what they say they're going to do?
- I feel really guilty investing in myself. I should be spending this money on my kids, family, or even savings. Am I selfish?
Here are some ways to address those fear mindsets:
"Money is really tight right now, what if I invest in this program and I put myself in a deeper financial hole?" ---You can offer a money-back guarantee or even better offer a result-based guarantee. For example, If the program you're selling is to help someone get more clients, then offer a guarantee that if they invest in this program that you'll continue working with them until they get their first paying client.
"Can I trust this person? Are they really going to do what they say they're going to do?" -- Be trustworthy! Show up on time, give in a big way, do what you say you're going to do.
"I feel guilty investing in myself. I should be spending this money on my kids, family, or even savings. Am I selfish?" --Unhappiness is contagious. And if you don't address your own happiness and self-care than you're also teaching your kids, family and loved ones that self-care and happiness doesn't matter. It's not selfish to invest in yourself.
If you can lovingly address the fear mindsets of your dream potential clients then you can serve in a bigger way and actually use your gifts to create beautiful change in other people's lives!
You weren't meant to play small and to go months without any clients. You weren't meant to go bankrupt and to question why you started a business in the first place.
You were meant to unleash your calling and step into your consistent greatness!
And while some of us are trying to unlock the code to Atlantis (I think I'm almost there! Haha) I know with every fiber of my being that with the right mindset, vision, and systems in place you'll be able to unlock the code to thriving in your beautiful heart-centered business.
With so much love!
